Looking forward…

“I often listen to Podcasts, Audio Books, and about two handfuls of radio stations when traveling between appointments.  One of my pre-set stations is “Joel Osteen Radio” on SiriusXM 128.  His words are reflective of His Word, and I find them to be inspirational.  Perhaps you do as well.  His presentations provide the right combination of humor, guidance, instruction, and challenge to the work day.  Our industry has had some tremendous difficulties since 2008, and while the marketplace has rebounded considerably in many locations, there are still many good hard-working families still struggling.  Not everyone has a network of friends, family, co-workers and clients to help them focus on their talents and ability to share them with others, and I know hundreds of people who have been unbelievably discouraged, and many remain today, under-employed.  Joel said something, which I found appropriate to both driving, and people who find themselves discouraged with what has happened to them in the past (in any area of your life).  He said, “See, when you drive home today, you’ve go a big windshield on the front of your car.  And you’ve got a little bitty rear-view mirror.  And the reason the windshield is so large and the rear-view mirror is so small is because what’s happened in your past is not near as important as what’s in your future.”  A smile.  A reminder to not dwell on the negative events of your past, but of the great things your future holds for you.  I have been blessed to share my talents with people who are able to watch and see how the future can be exciting, and bring friends and family together.  What we do is so far beyond shelter, it is worthy of reflection and gratitude.  Let’s help each other see clearly through our own windshields, and inspire those around us to do the same.” – Mike
